Whirlybird Installation · Yarrambat
Yarrambat's established homes on larger, tree-covered blocks trap summer heat in roof cavities that often have little original ventilation, and the shaded setting also means winter moisture that condenses and can feed mould. Whirlybirds vent both. On the concrete-tile roofs common here we lift the tile course, cut a clean penetration, bed the flashing watertight and seat the turbine. On Yarrambat's larger properties we often size a few more turbines than a standard suburban home needs, given the bigger roof area.
Yarrambat's larger rural-residential rooflines often mean bigger cavities to ventilate than a standard suburban home, so getting the turbine count right for the actual roof area matters more here.
Local roof weather
Yarrambat sees around ~5 days above 35°C a year, and on those days an unventilated roof cavity turns into a heat store right above your ceilings.

The process
We look at roof size, pitch and existing airflow to work out how many vents you actually need — no over-selling.
Vents go high on the roof where the hottest air collects, balanced with the eave intake so air can actually move through.
On a tiled roof we lift the tiles, cut a neat penetration, and bed the flashing so it is fully weatherproof.
The turbine is seated in the flashing collar and the tiles are reinstated over the apron, leaving a clean, leak-free finish.
Installation differs by roof: on tiled roofs we cut and flash the penetration under the tile course, while on metal roofs the vent is flashed directly into the sheeting. Both need the flashing done properly — a rushed vent install is a classic future leak.
Installations are carried out by an insured team and the workmanship is backed by a 7-Year Workmanship Guarantee and a 10-Year Dulux Acratex Material Warranty.
