Whirlybird Installation · Berwick
Berwick's newer estate homes, many built from the 1990s onward, often have larger roof spans than older housing stock, and on a hot day the ceiling cavity beneath that tile or Colorbond roof traps heat that radiates back down into living areas overnight. A whirlybird uses wind movement and the natural rise of hot air to keep pulling that warm, moist air out continuously, with no power needed. On tile roofs we lift the course, cut a clean penetration and bed the flashing so it stays watertight through Berwick's wetter-than-average winters; on Colorbond we match the fixing to the roof sheet profile.
Berwick's larger, newer estate roofs often have more ceiling cavity to ventilate than an older, smaller home, and the area's higher rainfall makes a properly flashed, leak-free installation especially important.
Local roof weather
Berwick sees around ~6 days above 35°C a year, and on those days an unventilated roof cavity turns into a heat store right above your ceilings.

The process
We look at roof size, pitch and existing airflow to work out how many vents you actually need — no over-selling.
Vents go high on the roof where the hottest air collects, balanced with the eave intake so air can actually move through.
On a tiled roof we lift the tiles, cut a neat penetration, and bed the flashing so it is fully weatherproof.
The turbine is seated in the flashing collar and the tiles are reinstated over the apron, leaving a clean, leak-free finish.
Installation differs by roof: on tiled roofs we cut and flash the penetration under the tile course, while on metal roofs the vent is flashed directly into the sheeting. Both need the flashing done properly — a rushed vent install is a classic future leak.
Installations are carried out by an insured team and the workmanship is backed by a 7-Year Workmanship Guarantee and a 10-Year Dulux Acratex Material Warranty.
